Liner Notes

Flesh & Blood is the third album, on which Poison stepped into slightly deeper shading while keeping big choruses and rock 'n' roll release. The playing of Bret Michaels (vocals), C.C. DeVille (guitar), Bobby Dall (bass) and Rikki Rockett (drums) is more powerful and tighter than before. Beyond flashy party songs, lyrics gazing at life and struggle increased, showing the band's growth. From the opening "Strange Days of Uncle Jack" to the dynamism of "Unskinny Bop" and the earnest ballad "Something to Believe In," the album shows a wide range of expressions. "Unskinny Bop" became a US number 3 hit and "Something to Believe In" number 4. The album reached US number 2 and 3x Platinum, marking their biggest sales. A record fitting as the close of the golden age of 1980s glam metal, balancing glamour and depth.
