The Plague Within

The Plague Within came out on Century Media Records on 1 June 2015 as 9985552. It was recorded at Orgone Studios in London with the producer Jaime Gomez Arellano, who also mastered it, and the cover painting is by Zbigniew M. Bielak. Adrian Erlandsson plays drums, and it was the last studio album he made with the band. Announcing it, Nick Holmes said they had approached this album differently, by drawing on the band's very earliest days: a dark yet melodic record on which many songs carry a death metal edge, something Paradise Lost had not done for a long time. Marquee, which issued the band's records in Japan in these years, presented it as the new album marking twenty-five years since the debut. Limited editions add "Fear of Silence" and "Never Look Away". The Japanese edition came out on AVALON on 20 May 2015 as MICP-11216, with an orchestral version of "Victim of the Past" added for eleven tracks. The track list here is the original ten, and the player on this page carries the same ten.
