Raging Out

This album stands at the band's thirtieth anniversary. A commemorative box, XXX BOX (UICN-9031), had appeared on 15 February 2017, and this followed on 11 October of the same year, as an SHM-CD with the catalogue number UICN-1092. Peter Tagtgren mixed it. He leads Pain and Hypocrisy, and partly because of his work the playing has a notably raw surface. Shinya Tange places the record as the last of three made since Naoki Hashimoto's return, and musically that is where it sits: an extension of Outrage of 2009 and Outraged of 2013, with everything turned up a degree. The band show their roots plainly while taking in the force of a younger generation of metal. Hashimoto's singing carries it, and Yosuke Abe's guitar is unusually melodic throughout. Doomsday Machine was put forward as the lead track, and the record ends on a song bearing the band's own name. The running order here is the standard edition's as printed.
