Run Riot

This is the thirteenth album, released in 2020 by a band then past its thirtieth anniversary. The catalogue number is UICN-1099 and the label Universal Music. Jay Ruston mixed it, taking over from Peter Tagtgren, who had mixed Raging Out. The running order opens with Edge Of A Blade and runs through ten new songs to Are You Ready. Two more follow: White Lightning (respect for Paralex) and Red Skull Rock (respect for Tank). As their titles say outright, both are tributes to bands of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, which is the music Outrage were playing as covers in Nagoya when they started in 1982; thirty-eight years later they turned back to face it directly. The limited edition issued alongside it (UICN-9036) carries a DVD on which the band play Angel Witch's Baphomet, Warfare's Metal Anarchy, Venom's In League With Satan and, with JERO guesting, Saxon's 747 (Strangers In The Night) and Tygers Of Pan Tang's Running Out Of Time. The running order here is the standard edition's as printed. The digital release came earlier, on 7 March 2020, which is not the date of this disc.
