GENESIS I

This record is built differently from an ordinary album. The catalogue number is UICN-1080 and it was issued as a CD with a DVD. The songs fall into two sides. The first, the Genesis Side, is given over to Japanese rock forebears: The Mops' Goiken Muyo, Anarchy's Aburamushi, Zuno Keisatsu's Fuzakerun ja Nee yo, Happy End's Sorairo no Crayon, Blues Creation's Just I Was Born, Gedo's Kaori and Strawberry Path's Mary Jane. The second, the Exploring Side, holds five new songs: Evil Rock, Deal Up, Buried Alive, Sunny Daze and The Shadow Of Fear. An instrumental reading of Kojo no Tsuki closes the disc as a bonus track, making thirteen in all. The shape of it names what the band inherited. An act that began in Nagoya in 1982 playing covers of British heavy metal here traces its descent from the Japanese side instead. The accompanying DVD, titled The Story of Genesis I, carries band interviews and a record of the sessions. The running order here is as printed on release.
