LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
It was recorded at Robert Lang Studios in Shoreline, Washington, with Neil Kernon producing. Warrel Dane sings, Jeff Loomis plays guitar and Jim Sheppard bass.
By the band's own account, Dane and Sheppard brought Loomis into Sanctuary before that band split, and after it did the three of them recruited the drummer Mark Arrington and recorded demos with him. Arrington's time was brief; auditions followed and Van Williams got the seat. Four further demos with Williams secured the Century Media deal. The debut is built from both sets of sessions: of its eight songs, four were played by Arrington and four by Williams. Arrington is not credited on the sleeve.
A video was made for "What Tomorrow Knows", which is also the only song from this album on the 2009 compilation Manifesto of Nevermore. The Japanese edition followed on 21 July 1995. The running order here is the original's as printed.
