LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
It was recorded at Village Productions in Tornillo, Texas, with Neil Kernon producing again after the debut. The second guitarist is Pat O'Brien, later of Cannibal Corpse, and the band's own site credits the album's razor-sharp riffing and intricate guitar work to him. The title comes from Timothy Leary's book The Politics of Ecstasy. The first chapter of that book is called "The Seven Tongues of God", which is the opening song here. "Next in Line" carries a spoken sample from Adrian Lyne's film Jacob's Ladder. It was published in Germany on 28 October 1996 and in the United States on 5 November. After "The Learning" there are five minutes of silence and then a hidden track of one minute nineteen. The running order here is the original's as printed, and that hidden track is not listed as a song.
