Vengeance is the debut that solidified MYSTIC PROPHECY’s dignified power-metal image, combining low, heavy guitar and dark melody. The powerful vocal delivery further pushes out the songs’ aggression. It is a notable debut, formed centered on Roberto Dimitri Liapakis and guitarist Gus G., who would later be active in Firewind and Ozzy Osbourne’s band.
On “1545 - The Beginning,” “Damnation And Darkness” and “Fallen Angel,” there is presence not only in the drive but in the low-centered mid-tempo. Songs like “Sky's Burning,” “River Of Hate” and “In The Mirror” breathe an early rough appeal too. By sounding valor and gloom at once, they build a distinctive air. It is a powerful starting point for dark, hard-nosed German power metal.
