Get Over It

LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
Get Over It is a work on which Eric Martin’s singing softly brought together the superb playing of Paul Gilbert and Billy Sheehan. While keeping a funk feel and a pop sensibility, the guitar’s presence comes more to the fore. It is a record that became a certain milestone for the original lineup. On “Electrified,” “Superfantastic” and “Hole In the Sun,” rather than only pitting each member’s personality against the others, they re-confirm the band’s groove. Songs like “Static,” “A Rose Alone” and “My New Religion” breathe the band’s full playing too. It is content on which catchiness and playing ability naturally bind. After this record, Paul Gilbert temporarily departed, and the band would face a new phase. It is a full record on which the matured playing of the four can be enjoyed.
