Generation Swine

Generation Swine is a work on which MÖTLEY CRÜE, welcoming Vince Neil’s return, boldly took in processed sound, hard beats and a gloomy mood rather than returning to the glam-metal template. Behind the flashy choruses is a 1990s-style grit and tension. Though a reunion work of the original members, it is a record that stepped greatly toward an experimental direction. Starting with the title track “Generation Swine,” precisely because the distance from the conventional image is large, the band’s danger and experimentalism appear clearly. The sound, taking in industrial and electronic elements, mirrors the band’s challenging stance at the time. It is content that warped hedonistic rock ’n’ roll from another angle. Though it drew mixed reactions, it is an ambitious record in which the band’s experimental spirit is deeply carved.
