SOLDIER OF FORTUNE

Soldier of Fortune, released on 17 September 1989, is the eighth Loudness album and the first with the American vocalist Mike Vescera, who replaced Minoru Niihara after his departure the previous year. Max Norman produced for the third time, following Thunder in the East and Lightning Strikes, with Roger Probert co-producing. Vescera's power was evident from the start, and "You Shook Me", released as a single, went into rotation on American rock radio. Vescera would go on to join Yngwie Malmsteen's band. With the title track, "Danger Of Love" and "Demon Disease", the album shows a group that had changed singers without withdrawing from the international contest it had entered.
