DISILLUSION

Disillusion is the fourth Loudness album, released on 21 January 1984. It was recorded, mixed and mastered in London during 1983. The engineer was Julian Mendelsohn, whose credits by then included Yes, Elton John, Jimmy Page and Bob Marley. Having brought an American engineer to Japan for the previous record, the band now moved the work itself abroad. Beyond the Japanese pressing, the album was licensed to Music for Nations in the UK and Roadrunner Records in Europe. Carrying "Crazy Nights", "Esper" and "Ares' Lament", this is widely treated as the high point of the band's early period. That July a separate English-language version appeared with every lyric re-sung, giving the same record two forms: one for home, one for everywhere else.
