THE LAW OF DEVIL'S LAND

The Law of Devil's Land is the third Loudness album, released by Nippon Columbia on 21 January 1983. Made for the domestic market, the record nevertheless reached Europe through Roadrunner Records, one of the first routes by which the band's name travelled to listeners abroad. "Crazy Doctor", "Angel Dust" and "Esper" all stayed in the live set long after. Six months after its release, in July 1983, Loudness played its first dates on the US west coast and in Europe. Those shows were seen by people from Atlantic Records, and led to the first worldwide multi-album contract signed by a Japanese band. What the first three albums had built was what made the next step possible.
