Liner Notes
The Hunting Party is the sixth album, on which Linkin Park returned to a heavier, more aggressive rock sound. The band used no outside producer; Brad Delson and Mike Shinoda produced it themselves. Restraining electronics, they push raw guitar and drum impulse to the front. As Delson said he "rediscovered his love of guitar," a technical, physical sound runs throughout.
The lead single "Guilty All the Same," featuring Rakim, declared the band's return with a powerful riff. "Final Masquerade" and "Until It's Gone" give off a lyrical charm, and "Rebellion" features Daron Malakian of System of a Down. Returning to the intensity of its origins after the experimental period, the album reached number three on the US Billboard 200. A powerful record that vividly showed the band's pride as a rock band.
