Liner Notes
Living Things is the fifth album, on which Linkin Park returned to its early hybrid sound after two experimental records. Rick Rubin and Mike Shinoda produced again, fusing rock and electronics at high density. As the band itself said they felt "comfortable in their own skin," aggression, melody and personal emotional expression bind together naturally.
"Burn It Down" became a representative hit with its memorable chorus, and "Lost in the Echo" and "Castle of Glass" also gained wide popularity. On songs like "Lies Greed Misery," the tension of rap and electronics stands out. Crystallizing into a more accessible form while building on the fruits of experiment, the album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200. A rich record concentrating the band's varied elements.
