Waters Rising

LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
Waters Rising is a work on which LILLIAN AXE carefully combined heavy riffs and shadowed melody. While the sound is hard, the vocals and guitar have an emotional margin, giving the songs deep undulation. It is a record on which, after a long career, the band stepped into a more introspective depth. The title track “Waters Rising” and songs like “Antarctica” and “Until the End of the World” play not on momentum alone but on a flow of tension and release. Songs like “Become a Monster” and “Deep In the Black” breathe the band’s full playing too. Keeping the foundation of melodic hard rock, they step into a more introspective depth. Even under the new lineup welcoming a new vocalist, the worldview Steve Blaze draws has not wavered in the least — a full record.
