Liner Notes
Gravity is the sixth album, released on 20 June 2025, on which Leverage honed Finnish melodic metal's melancholy against hard-rock-leaning riffs. After losing Kimmo Blom, founder and principal writer Tuomas Heikkinen did not fold the band. He brought in the Italian singer Paolo Ribaldini (Delain, ex-Skiltron), who had sung at Blom's memorial, and made violinist Lotta-Maria Heiskanen a full member — the third era.
Eight songs, 45 minutes. The guitars are thick and the keyboards never push too far forward, supporting each song's drama as shading. After the advance tracks “All Seeing Eye” and “Shooting Star,” keyboards and guitar imitate a steam locomotive on “Hellbound Train.” Heiskanen takes a violin solo on “Moon of Madness,” and “Eliza” opens like a sea shanty. “King Ghidorah” is a thrash-leaning piece about the three-headed monster of the same name. The near-ten-minute title track closes. Recorded at Studio Tauko in Espoo from July to November 2024, mixed by Eero Kaukomies at Sonic Pump in Helsinki. The album is dedicated to the memory of Kimmo Blom.
