Extreme Aggression

The fourth album is one that was made twice. The band started recording in Berlin, but producer Randy Burns was not satisfied with the room and stopped the session part-way through Petrozza's vocals. Months later they went to the United States and cut the record again, in January and February 1989, across Music Grinder, E.Q. Sound and Cherokee Studios in Hollywood. The difference in the sound is not subtle. The low end sits properly and the riffs separate from one another in a way they do not on the first three records — without any loss of speed. The title track, "Betrayer" and "Some Pain Will Last" turn that clarity straight back into force. The distribution changed as well: Noise International in Europe (N 0129) and Epic in the United States, which made this the first Kreator album to go out through a major label there. The running order here is the nine-track original.
