Rock And Roll Over (Eddie Kramer 2026 Mix) is KISS's fifth studio album, Rock and Roll Over (1976), in a new stereo mix by Eddie Kramer, who produced and engineered the record the first time and has now mixed it afresh from the original analog multitrack tapes for its fiftieth anniversary. It is dated 6 November 2026 in Japan and abroad alike; Universal Music Japan's edition is UICY-16543.
The ten songs run in the album's order, every one of them in the 2026 mix, the same programme as the second disc of the 4CD + Blu-ray Audio box Rock And Roll Over (50th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition), dated the same day. Where the box adds the 1976 mix remastered, demos and outtakes and songs from the April 1977 Budokan shows, this CD holds the new mix on its own. Bernie Grundman mastered it, as he did all of the anniversary audio. The sleeve is Michael Doret's original artwork in a fiftieth-anniversary rendering of gold, red and black.
KISS made the original album after Destroyer, Bob Ezrin's elaborate production earlier in 1976, had divided their fans, and went back to the simpler approach of their first records with Kramer, who had made Alive! with them in 1975. The basic tracks were cut in the Star Theatre, an abandoned venue in Nanuet, New York: Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and Ace Frehley played in the main hall and Peter Criss elsewhere in the building, a video camera keeping them in touch. It was the first KISS album to ship gold, was certified platinum less than two months later and peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard album chart, and "Calling Dr. Love" and "Hard Luck Woman" both reached the top twenty. Paul Stanley counts Doret's cover as the definitive KISS album sleeve.
Only the Japanese pressing is an SHM-CD, and it adds a Japanese translation of Ken Sharp's album notes with lyrics and their translations. Abroad the 2026 mix comes on CD and on a 180-gram black LP.
