I Am the Fire

I Am the Fire, released by Century Media Records in March 2014, is Gus G.'s first solo album. He was leading Firewind and playing guitar in Ozzy Osbourne's band at the time; King Records released the Japanese edition on 26 March. He wrote every song and gave each its own guest. Mats Levén sings four — "My Will Be Done", "Blame It on Me", "Eyes Wide Open" and "End of the Line" — and the others bring in Jeff Scott Soto, Steel Panther's Michael Starr, Tom S. Englund, Jacob Bunton, Alexia Rodriguez and, on the title track, Devour the Day. "Vengeance" and "Terrified" are instrumentals, with David Ellefson and Billy Sheehan respectively joining on bass. The drummers credited include Jeff Friedl of A Perfect Circle and Daniel Erlandsson of Arch Enemy. Within the year Century Media released five videos from the album: "My Will Be Done", "I Am the Fire", "Eyes Wide Open", "Blame It on Me" and "Long Way Down". The Japanese edition has thirteen tracks with the instrumental "Without You", and an Expanded Edition with further songs appeared abroad that autumn. Twelve years later, in January 2026, Gus G.'s own channel published a new lyric video for "Redemption".
