LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
Faceless is the third album, made with new drummer Shannon Larkin (ex-Ugly Kid Joe). Replacing Tommy Stewart, Larkin joined from this record. Produced by Sully Erna and David Bottrill, it pushes a firm alternative metal around low riffs and heavy grooves. Larkin's powerful, busy drumming added fresh drive to the band's sound. The lead single "Straight Out of Line" is a signature song nominated for a Grammy (Best Hard Rock Performance). "I Stand Alone," used on the soundtrack of The Scorpion King, became one of the band's most popular songs, and "Serenity" shows a lyrical side. It debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, the band's first chart-topper. An important record that vividly showed the band's leap with its new lineup.
