No World Order is the seventh album on which GAMMA RAY brought together its signature drive, clear melody and powerful choruses at high density. Kai Hansen’s voice and guitar pull the songs forward without losing lightness. Taking in a more modern, aggressive production, the band gained a new power. On “Induction,” “Dethrone Tyranny,” “Heaven or Hell” and “Damn the Machine,” the drive of speed metal and anthemic melodic sense mesh splendidly. Songs like “The Heart of the Unicorn” and “Eagle” breathe the band’s varied expressiveness too. Even while handling heavier themes, the music never sinks fully into darkness, always keeping elation.
