East Of Eden Biography

Biography

East Of Eden is a Japanese all-female rock band launched on August 8, 2023, around violinist Ayasa with the aim of creating music beyond established genre, image and identity boundaries. The current line-up is Ayasa on violin, MINA on bass, Akane Minato on vocals, MIZUKI on drums and Yuki on guitar. Built on a metal-centered foundation, the group treats violin as an equal lead instrument rather than decoration, combining virtuosity, memorable songwriting and contemporary loud-rock impact.

The band established its scale through major live performances before releasing the debut EP Forbidden Fruit -1st piece- in December 2023. Songs such as “Evolve” defined the basic architecture: Ayasa’s cutting melodies, Yuki’s heavy guitar, Minato’s forceful voice and MIZUKI’s dynamic drumming meeting inside a dense but melodic arrangement. Forbidden Fruit -2nd piece- followed in 2024, with “Judgement Syndrome” and “CROSS∞ROADS” deepening the low-end weight, structural complexity and live unity. On March 13, 2024, the band released its first live video, World Premiere Special Showcase 2023, which records its first headline show, played at Zepp DiverCity on October 8, 2023.

After MINA joined on bass, the renewed five-piece recorded every song for the first full album, The First Eden - Seeds Of Hope, released in March 2025. “Shooting Star,” “Darkside Lotus” and “IKIZAMA” balance aggression with immediate melody and demonstrate that the violin-led format is not a temporary novelty but the compositional and ensemble core of the band. National touring and overseas performances expanded the group’s reach and reinforced its stage identity. On August 20, 2025, the two-disc live video Spring Tour 2025 ~ Seeds Of Hope ~ followed, holding two nights of the tour behind the album: Zepp DiverCity Tokyo on March 20 and KT Zepp Yokohama on April 8.

The 2026 EP Rising In Bloom adds open, refreshing color and large-scale ballad drama to the established heaviness through songs including “Our Fate” and “The weight of choice.” Each member brings a different professional history and musical root, and East Of Eden gains strength by allowing those differences to remain audible. Violin, guitar, voice, bass and drums can all occupy the foreground without breaking the song. That rare balance has made the band an increasingly important presence connecting Japan’s modern metal, loud-rock and international-facing rock scenes.

On July 3, 2026, at the closing show of the Zepp tour at Zepp DiverCity (TOKYO), East Of Eden were announced as the singers of "Ghost Sequence," the opening theme of the TV anime 『とある暗部の少女共棲』 and their first anime tie-up. The song was released to digital services on October 17, and the single "Ghost Sequence" has a release date of November 4, 2026 on Warner Music Japan, in a regular and an anime edition; it also carries "Evolve (English Version)," the 2023 debut song re-recorded by the present five with English lyrics.

On stage, the band played LINE CUBE SHIBUYA on August 9, 2026, as the additional show of East Of Eden Zepp Tour 2026 - Rising, and East Of Eden Premier Live 2027 ~ a starry night ~ was announced there as a surprise. The main dates that follow are NEMOPHILA's all-female co-headline event at EX THEATER ROPPONGI on October 12; East Of Eden Live in Hong Kong 2026 at PORTAL in Hong Kong on October 25; East Of Eden Special Live 2026 ~ ALL IN ~, a one-off special show announced on September 26, at KAAT Kanagawa Arts Theatre in Yokohama on December 5; and East Of Eden Premier Live 2027 ~ a starry night ~ at Hitomi Memorial Hall in Tokyo on January 30, 2027.

The Individuality of "Metal with Violin as a Lead Instrument"

What decisively separates East Of Eden from other metal and loud-rock bands is that it places the violin at the center of its line-up as a lead instrument. Whereas in many bands strings remain decorative or supporting, in East Of Eden Ayasa's violin carries the main melody, takes solos and leads the songs on equal terms with the guitar—at times even more prominently. This configuration fuses classical melodic beauty with metal weight at a high level, producing a sound unlike any other.

The founding philosophy of "going beyond established genre, image and identity" is directly expressed in this distinctive line-up. Violin, guitar, vocals, bass and drums all stand in the foreground, yet cohere into a single song rather than chaos—this sense of balance is proof of East Of Eden's high level of songwriting and ensemble ability.

Detailed Member Profiles

Ayasa (Violin) — The central figure of East Of Eden. With sharp, expressive melodies she leads the sound as the band's lead instrument. Combining classical technique with rock intensity, she embodies the band's individuality itself.

Akane Minato (Vocal) — With powerful, expressive vocals she gives a sure vocal spine atop the heavy band sound, singing across a wide range from aggressive songs to lyrical ballads.

Yuki (Guitar) — A guitarist who builds the band's foundation with heavy riffs and technical playing. Pairing with Ayasa's violin, she carries both wheels of melody and heaviness.

MINA (Bass) — A bassist who joined in the renewed formation. She supports the low end of the five-member line-up that recorded the first full album, making the band's groove sure.

MIZUKI (Drums) — With dynamic drumming she forcefully drives East Of Eden's complex development, carrying the propulsion of the band's rhythm.

Conclusion

East Of Eden is a distinctively configured all-female rock band launched in 2023 around violinist Ayasa under the banner of "music that goes beyond existing frames." It has steadily crystallized the clear identity of placing violin as a lead instrument into works, from EPs to a full album, and has broadened its activity from national tours to overseas performances. Balancing classical melodic beauty with metal weight at a high level, its sound continues to raise its presence toward the world as an act symbolizing the diversity of Japan's current loud-rock scene.
