Under the Grey Banner

Under the Grey Banner is DRAGONLAND's fifth album, released in 2011, a full five years after Astronomy. A fifth album had been announced back in 2008, and a preproduction of "The Shadow of the Mithril Mountains" surfaced in 2009, so the record arrived only after a long gestation. It is the third chapter of the Dragonland Chronicles saga, continuing and resolving the story told on the first two albums. Olof Mörck and Elias Holmlid produced the record, and Jacob Hansen mixed and mastered it. Recording took place at the band's own Mithril Mountain Studios, at Skullcleaver Studios and at Hansen Studios in Ribe, Denmark. The cover artwork is by Damian Bajowski, known for the game The Witcher. The performing line-up was Olof Mörck (guitars and violin), Jonas Heidgert (vocals), Anders Hammer (bass), Elias Holmlid (keyboards), Jesse Lindskog (guitars) and Morten Løwe Sørensen (drums), with guest contributions from Elize Ryd, Jake E, Fred Johanson, Anna Mariann Lundberg and others. It was released by AFM Records (AFM 359-2); the Japanese edition came out on King Records' Metal Frontier line (KICP-1562) on 23 November 2011. Release dates vary slightly across sources: the AFM pressing and MusicBrainz give 18 November 2011, while Wikipedia's article on the album states 13 November 2011.
