Astronomy

Astronomy is DRAGONLAND's fourth album, released in 2006. Like its predecessor Starfall, it was made as a stand-alone record outside the Dragonland Chronicles saga. Production is credited jointly to Henrik Udd, Olof Mörck and Patrik J. Sten, and the record was mixed by Fredrik Nordström and Patrik J. Sten, keeping alive the connection with Nordström that had begun at Studio Fredman on Holy War. The cover artwork is by Niklas Sundin of DARK TRANQUILLITY. The album features guest female vocals from Elize Ryd. This is her first appearance with DRAGONLAND, well before she became widely known in AMARANTHE, and she would return as a guest on the band's fifth and sixth albums. According to Wikipedia, NIGHTRAGE's Marios Iliopoulos, Jake E and DEAD BY APRIL's Jimmie Strimell also guest on the record. The performing line-up is Jonas Heidgert (vocals), Nicklas Magnusson and Olof Mörck (guitars), Elias Holmlid (synthesizers), Christer Pedersen (bass) and Jesse Lindskog (drums). It was released by Century Media (77579-2); the Japanese edition followed on King Records' Metal Frontier line (KICP-1214) on 24 January 2007. The release date differs across sources: the Century Media pressing and MusicBrainz give 13 November 2006, while Wikipedia states 11 November 2006.
