Liner Notes
New Religion is Crazy Lixx's second album, on which they rebuilt the big hooks of 80s hard rock with a modern sonic punch. It is their first album after moving to the renowned Italian label Frontiers Records, and a record that sharply raised their international profile. On guitar, Andy Zäta joined in place of Vic Zino. Original guitarist Vic Zino had left the band to join Hardcore Superstar. More mature than the debut, they stepped into a refined melodic hard rock. While keeping some sleaze grit, the album leans more heavily on harmony and melody. This reach helped bring the band to an international audience.
Catchy, flamboyant songs like "Rock and a Hard Place," "Blame It on Love" and "21 'Til I Die" line up. Danny Rexon's soaring vocals and sing-along choruses are the draw. The band steadily advanced toward an arena-rock sound reminiscent of Def Leppard and Bon Jovi. An accomplished record containing many songs still frequently played live today.
