Cryptoriana – The Seductiveness of Decay

It was released on 22 September 2017 on Nuclear Blast, and Ward Records issued the Japanese edition as GQCS-90427 under the title 『クリプトリアナ～腐蝕への誘惑』. Scott Atkins produced it, recorded at Grindstone Studios between December 2016 and April 2017. The subtitle states the subject: the Victorian appetite for death and decay, the aesthetic hold that mortality had on the period, carried on songs with orchestration laid thickly under them. Liv Kristine sings on "Vengeful Spirit". It is also the second and last album on which Lindsay Schoolcraft narrates. The standard CD (NB 3805-2) holds eight songs and 52 minutes 53 seconds; the limited digipak, the vinyl and the digital version add "The Night at Catafalque Manor" and a cover of Annihilator's "Alison Hell" for ten.
