LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
The second album takes the intricacy of the debut a step further. It was recorded in May 1988 at Sky Trak Studios in Berlin, produced by Guy Bidmead, and Noise put the 12-inch out as NUK 119 on 1 August that year.
On "Masked Jackal", "Arc-Lite" and "Skeleton on Your Shoulder" the metre changes part-way through, and Vetterli's guitar keeps moving the harmony inside the speed. There is less of the debut's rawness, and the construction comes forward in its place. This is about where the band began to be discussed from the progressive metal side as much as from thrash.
Thirty-eight minutes and fifty-four seconds in all. The running order here is the original's as printed; masters from the CD era onwards add their reading of Jimi Hendrix's "Purple Haze".
