The End (4 February 2017 - Birmingham)

The End (4 February 2017 - Birmingham) is a two-CD live album from Black Sabbath's last concert, played at the Genting Arena in their home city of Birmingham on 4 February 2017. Eagle Records issued it on 17 November 2017; Universal Music reissued it in Japan on SHM-CD as UICY-16372/3 on 20 February 2026. The night closed The End Tour — eighty-one shows and more than a million and a half tickets — and the routing was built so that the farewell would finish in the city where the band began. Bill Ward did not take part; the three on stage were Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler. The set opens where the band opened, on 'Black Sabbath', the first song of the 1970 debut. 'Fairies Wear Boots', 'After Forever', 'Into the Void' and 'Snowblind' come from the first four albums, and after the band introductions the first disc runs to 'War Pigs' and then reproduces the debut's own sequence, 'Behind the Wall of Sleep' into 'Bassically/N.I.B.'. Disc two begins on 'Hand of Doom', passes through a short medley of 'Supernaut', 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath' and 'Megalomania' and a 'Rat Salad' that carries the drum solo, then moves through 'Iron Man', 'Dirty Women' and 'Children of the Grave' before ending on 'Paranoid'. Fourteen of the seventeen items come from the four albums of 1970 to 1973, and the newest song of the night is 'Dirty Women' from 1976. What forty-six years chose to end on is legible in the running order itself.
