Christopher decided to realize this offer not just as an instrumental guitar album, but as a vocal-driven project by a full band. This was the beginning of ARMAGEDDON.

To materialize his ideal "sci-fi and technical melodic death metal," Christopher assembled talented young musicians from the Swedish scene at the time. Looking back, the lineup was truly worthy of being called a "supergroup".

Released in May 1997, the album became a massive hit in Japan. However, because their European distributor "W.A.R. Records" (Wrong Again Records) went bankrupt and ceased operations shortly after its release, this masterpiece remained a hard-to-find "phantom album" in Western markets for a long time, gaining a cult following.

2.2.1. Focus on ARCH ENEMY and the Departure of Members

After the release of "Crossing the Rubicon", no tour activities were conducted as ARMAGEDDON. This was because Peter Wildoer and Martin Bengtsson were absorbed into ARCH ENEMY and participated in the production of 1998's "Stigmata".   Singer of "Last Tribe". He possessed a sonorous mid-range clean voice and a melodious singing style, the polar opposite of Jonas Nyrén's screams. With his appointment, the band completely steered towards "orthodox metal".

  A technical player who served as a touring member for "In Flames" and would later join "Meshuggah".
• Daniel Erlandsson: Drums.
  ARCH ENEMY's drummer and Christopher's sworn ally.

The 2nd album, "Embrace the Mystery", produced with this lineup, was released in Japan by Toy's Factory, but an official release in Western markets was shelved. 2.4. Chapter 4: Resurrection in America and Return to Roots (2014-2016)

2.4.1. Moving to the US and Building a New Lineup

After leaving ARCH ENEMY in 2012, Christopher left Sweden and moved to the United States (around New York and Connecticut).   Originally a guitarist, she joined as a bassist. She also co-wrote lyrics and contributed to the band's visual and conceptual creation.

  A drummer from Hungary. He supported the backbone of the new ARMAGEDDON with his modern and tight drumming.

2.4.2. "Captivity & Devourment" and the Japan Tour

In 2015, they released their 4th album, "Captivity & Devourment", their first in 13 years. The musical style made a complete turnaround from the power metal direction of "Embrace the Mystery", returning to their early melodic death metal. However, the tuning was lowered (such as using 7-string guitars), fusing elements of modern American metal.

Shortly after the album's release, vocalist Matt Hallquist left due to personal reasons. Antony Hämäläinen, formerly of "Nightrage", joined as his replacement. The new lineup visited Japan to perform at "LOUD PARK 15" in 2015. On the stage in Japan, which could be considered a "hometown" for Christopher, they showcased a complete revival. During this live performance, past representative songs and new tracks were played, and the incredibly technical twin guitars with Joey Concepcion overwhelmed the audience.

2.4.3. Re-recording of "Crossing the Rubicon" (2016)

In 2016, the band released "Crossing the Rubicon (Revisited)", a full re-recording of their debut album. This was a measure to resolve rights issues with the label (W.A.R. From 2017 onwards, Christopher Amott's interests once again shifted elsewhere. He officially joined "Dark Tranquillity" as a guitarist (joined in 2020, left in 2023), and ARMAGEDDON's activities effectively entered an indefinite hiatus.

Joey Concepcion, Antony Hämäläinen, Sara Claudius, and late-stage bassist Andrew Pevny, who were left behind, formed "Daughter Chaos," a spiritual successor band that inherited ARMAGEDDON's musicality.

Christopher Amott has since returned to Sweden and continues his musical activities at his own pace, but whether ARMAGEDDON will move again depends entirely on his "Impulses".
