Liner Notes
All Ends is the product of a side project two In Flames guitarists started in 2003. Björn Gelotte and Jesper Strömblad wanted to play somewhere away from melodic death metal, and they put two women out in front to do it: Tinna Karlsdotter, and Björn's own sister Emma Gelotte. Joseph “Joey” Skansås drummed. At first Strömblad and Gelotte covered both guitars and bass, and they cut a five-track demo at Studio Fredman, produced by Fredrik Nordström and Patrick J. Sten.
In the spring of 2005 Fredrik Johansson came in on guitar — formerly of Dimension Zero, and the man who played the guest lead on “December Flower” from In Flames' The Jester Race. The debut appeared in 2007 through Razor & Tie with twelve tracks, produced by Björn Gelotte. The contrast of the two voices against hard guitar holds a pop feel and a gothic shadow at the same time. The following year they played Rock am Ring. The writing credits carry Gelotte's and Strömblad's names alongside the band's own. For a side project, this is a remarkably serious-sounding record.
