『Attention Attention』は、自己破壊や孤立から回復へ向かう過程を描くコンセプト作として、SHINEDOWNのヘヴィ・ロックをより物語的にまとめた第6作だ。ベースのエリック・バスが全面的にプロデュースを手掛けた最初の作品でもあり、バンドはより個人的で内省的な世界観を築き上げている。導入曲“The Entrance”から終曲“Brilliant”まで、一人の人物が最も暗い場所から立ち上がる物語が一貫して描かれる。 “Devil”“Get Up”“Monsters”は、重いギター、電子的な質感、メロディックなサビを使いながら、作品のテーマを前へ進める。いずれもメインストリーム・ロック・チャートで首位を獲得した代表曲だ。音楽的には親しみやすいが、歌の中には軽くない感情がある。本作は2018年にアトランティックからリリースされ、米ビルボード200で5位を記録した。4枚のシングルすべてがメインストリーム・ロック・チャートで首位を獲得し、バンドの勢いを改めて示している。物語を映像化したコンパニオン・フィルムも制作された。暗さを否定せず、そこから立ち上がる力を描いた本作は、バンドの表現がより深く、より大きくなったことを鮮やかに示している。

Attention Attention is the sixth album, a concept work depicting the process of moving from self-destruction and isolation toward recovery, gathering Shinedown's heavy rock into something more narrative. It is also the first album fully produced by bassist Eric Bass, and the band builds a more personal, introspective world. From the opening "The Entrance" to the closing "Brilliant," a consistent story is drawn of one person rising from their darkest place. "Devil," "Get Up" and "Monsters" push the work's themes forward while using heavy guitar, electronic texture and melodic choruses. All are signature songs that reached number one on the Mainstream Rock chart. Musically approachable, the singing carries emotion that is not light. Not denying the darkness but depicting the strength to rise from it, the album vividly shows that the band's expression has become deeper and larger.
