『Heart Of A Lion』は、2025年2月28日にフロンティアーズから出た第4作で、全11曲48分。曲が書かれたのは2024年の暮れからで、プロデュースはバンドとモーテン・エリクソンの共同、混ぜたのもエリクソンである。『Time for a Miracle』を手がけたのと同じ人物で、ケント・ヒッリはその起用理由を、ポップの現場で長く書き手とプロデューサーを務めてきた経験が持ち込まれたからだと説明している。方向は明確な揺り戻しだ。前作『Brace for Impact』で試した重く直截な音から離れ、鍵盤を増やして最初の2作の側へ戻る、というのが本人の弁である。 表題曲に続く“We Are Heroes”が先行シングルだった。ヒッリはこの曲を、看護師や医師、消防士や警察官といった日常の英雄についての歌であり、同時に依存や心の不調といった困難から這い上がり、より良い自分になっていく人々の歌でもあると語る。詞を書くとき、自分は神と人間の苦しみについて会話しているところを想像していた、とも。“All Night”の刻み、“Turn Up Your Radio”の会場向きの構え、語りから入るピアノのバラード“My Unsung Hero”、“Ready To Break”の疾走を経て、“At Your Stone”で幕が下りる。ヒッリの評価はすでにバンドの外へ広がっており、憧れだったジャイアントに招かれて『Shifting Time』で歌い、2021年にはソロ作も出している。

Heart Of A Lion is the fourth album, released by Frontiers on 28 February 2025: eleven songs, 48 minutes. The writing dates from late 2024, and the band co-produced with Mårten Eriksson, who also mixed — the same man who worked on Time for a Miracle. Kent Hilli explained the choice by pointing to Eriksson’s long experience as a writer and producer in the pop industry. The direction is a deliberate swing back: after the heavier, more direct sound of Brace for Impact, Hilli says, they added keyboards and moved back toward the first two albums. “We Are Heroes,” following the title track, was the first single. Hilli describes it as a song about everyday heroes — nurses, doctors, firefighters, police officers — and equally about people climbing out of struggles, addiction and mental health difficulties to become better versions of themselves. Writing it, he says, he pictured himself in conversation with God about human hardship. The chug of “All Night,” the arena stance of “Turn Up Your Radio,” the spoken entrance to the piano ballad “My Unsung Hero” and the gallop of “Ready To Break” lead to “At Your Stone.” Hilli’s standing had already carried beyond the band: his heroes Giant invited him to sing on Shifting Time, and solo work followed in 2021.
