LANGUAGE
『Live & Ready: 1980-1984』は、2026年4月3日にChrysalisから発売された6枚組のライヴ・ボックスである。品番CRC2305、CD5枚とDVD1枚。収められているのは4つの完全な公演で、いずれもマイケル・シェンカー・グループが最も動いていた時期にあたる。
CD1は1980年9月30日のマンチェスター・アポロ。デビュー作『The Michael Schenker Group』の発表年で、「Armed and Ready」「Cry for the Nations」「Into the Arena」といった1作目の曲に、UFO時代の「Rock Bottom」「Doctor Doctor」「Lights Out」、そしてシェンカーがかつて在籍したスコーピオンズの「Lost Horizons」が並ぶ。CD2とCD3は1981年8月12日の日本武道館公演で、2枚に分けて全曲を収録。コージー・パウエルのドラム・ソロもそのまま入っている。
CD4は1983年10月22〜23日のハマースミス・オデオン公演で、この2夜が完全な形で出るのは本作が初めてだとレーベルは述べている。ゲストとしてスコーピオンズのルドルフ・シェンカーとクラウス・マイネが加わった夜でもある。CD5は1984年8月12日の西武球場公演。「Captain Nemo」「Rock My Nights Away」といったゲイリー・バーデンからグラハム・ボネットへ、そして再びバーデンへと歌い手が替わっていった時期の曲が中心になる。
音源はAIRマスタリングでリマスターされている。DVDにはハマースミスと西武球場の映像が収められ、ブックレットにはマーティン・ポポフによる解説とシェンカーの新規インタビューが付く。5年間で日本を2度含む4公演という構成は、この時期のバンドの姿を音と映像の両方から追える資料になっている。
