『Saturn Skyline』は、LAST AUTUMN'S DREAMが、柔らかく美しいキーボード、流麗なギター、そして、ミカエル・アーランドソンの温かい歌を、極めて丁寧に重ね合わせた、充実の第4作だ。派手さよりも、あくまで、メロディの、豊かな余韻を大切にし、楽曲ごとに、穏やかで、確かな高揚を作り出していく。北欧メロディック・ロックならではの、その心地よさが、全編に満ちた一枚である。ベテランならではの、円熟した表現力が光る内容だ。 冒頭“For the Young and the Wild”の力強い推進力、そして“After Tomorrow's Gone”のドラマ性、さらに、ロックへの愛を歌った“Rock 'N Roll Is Saving My Soul”まで、収録曲は、いずれも聴き応えがある。“Pages”“I Know a Lot About Love”のような曲も、作品の充実を伝えている。表題曲を含む楽曲は、まるで夕景のような、美しい哀愁と、確かな希望とを、極めて自然に同居させている。 北欧メロディック・ロックの、その心地よさを、成熟した、豊かな感触で、じっくりと味わうことのできる一枚だ。良質で美しいメロディを、丁寧に、そして力強く紡ぎ続ける、バンドの、その揺るぎない姿勢が、はっきりと表れている。プロリフィックに作品を発表し続ける中でも、その質は、少しも落ちていない。上質で聴き応えのある、充実のメロディック・ロック作品と言える。バンドの安定感が光る一枚だ。

Saturn Skyline is a fulfilling fourth album on which Last Autumn's Dream layers soft, beautiful keyboards, fluid guitar and Mikael Erlandsson’s warm singing extremely carefully. Rather than flashiness, it values the rich afterglow of the melody, creating a calm, sure lift in each song. A record filled throughout with the comfort particular to Nordic melodic rock. Content where the mature expression particular to veterans shines. From the powerful drive of the opener “For the Young and the Wild” and the drama of “After Tomorrow’s Gone” to “Rock ’N Roll Is Saving My Soul,” singing of love for rock, every song is engaging, while cuts like “Pages” and “I Know a Lot About Love” convey the work’s fullness. The songs, including the title track, make beautiful sorrow like an evening view and a sure hope coexist extremely naturally. A record letting you carefully savor the comfort of Nordic melodic rock with a mature, rich feel.
