The Landing is a work on which Iron Savior powerfully carries through traditional power metal with a sci-fi world, via hard, steel-like riffs, speeding powerful rhythm and valiant choruses. After the dystopian direction of the previous album, it returns to the band’s native cosmic world and straight metal. Piet Sielck’s powerful singing and guitar give the songs a straight, sure drive. A record whose appeal is a back-to-origin power. From the development from the opener “Descending” to “The Savior” and the drama of “Starlight” to the powerful “Heavy Metal Never Dies,” every song is engaging, while cuts like “Hall of the Heroes” and “March of Doom” convey the work’s fullness.
