Split Your Lip is a work on which HARDCORE SUPERSTAR bound punk-like roughness, heavy guitar and venomous melody. While keeping a sleazy rock ’n’ roll expression, the riffs are hard and the playing has a more aggressive pressure. It is a record that took the heavy direction further. On “Sadistic Girls,” “Last Call for Alcohol” and “Split Your Lip,” the appeal is a balance that increased rough tension and weight without breaking the catchiness. Songs like “Moonshine,” “Bully” and “Run to Your Mama” breathe the band’s full playing too. Aggressive yet never losing hummable melody.
