『Dreamin' in a Casket』は、HARDCORE SUPERSTARがざらついたギターとパンキッシュな勢いを、大きなコーラスへと結び付けた作品だ。音は荒いが曲の設計は明快で、アクセルを踏み続けるような感覚が全体を支配している。前作で確立したヘヴィな路線を、さらに推し進めた一枚である。 表題曲“Dreamin' in a Casket”や“Medicate Me”“Need No Company”といった楽曲には、挑発的な態度と耳に残るフックが同居している。“Sophisticated Ladies”“Spreadin' the News”“No Resistance”のような楽曲にも、バンドの充実した演奏が息づいている。“Silence for the Peacefully”“Wake up Dead in a Garbagecan”“Lesson in Violence”のような楽曲にも、バンドの充実した演奏が息づいている。ギタリストのトーマス・シルヴァーが参加した最後の作品でもあり初期メンバーによる一つの区切りとなった本作は、退廃的でありながらキャッチーというバンド独自の魅力が全開になった、スリーズ・ロックの醍醐味が詰まった一枚だ。グラム、パンク、ハード・ロックを一気に混ぜ合わせた、危険で楽しい内容だ。バンドの円熟したスリーズ・ロックを味わえる、充実した一枚である。

The sound is rough, but the song design is clear, and a sense of keeping the accelerator down dominates throughout. It is a record that pushed the heavy direction established on the previous album further. The title track “Dreamin' in a Casket” and songs like “Medicate Me” and “Need No Company” hold a provocative attitude and memorable hooks together. Songs like “Sophisticated Ladies,” “Spreadin' the News” and “No Resistance” breathe the band’s full playing too. It is dangerous, fun content mixing glam, punk and hard rock all at once.
