『Address the Nation』は、新ヴォーカリストにエリック・グロンウォールを迎えて制作されたH.E.A.Tの第3作だ。彼はスウェーデンの人気オーディション番組「Idol」2009年の覇者であり、その加入は当初話題先行とも見られたが、本作での圧倒的な歌唱で疑念を一掃した。GAIN／ソニーと契約し、EUROPEやHARDCORE SUPERSTARを手掛けたグラミー受賞プロデューサー、トビアス・リンデルを起用したことで、作曲力に見合った力強く洗練されたサウンドを獲得している。スウェーデンのチャートで8位を記録した。 高らかな“Breaking the Silence”がアルバムの幕を鋭く開け、先行シングル“Living on the Run”はヨナ・ティーの鍵盤が生む高揚感で聴かせる。“In and Out of Trouble”の叙情、“It's All About Tonight”のファンキーなグルーヴ、“Downtown”の映画的な余韻まで、楽曲は多彩な表情を見せる。グロンウォールの加入によって、バンドはより現代的でダイナミックな方向へ舵を切った。批評的にも大きな成功を収め、新体制の可能性を鮮やかに証明した重要作である。

Address the Nation is the third album by H.E.A.T, made with new vocalist Erik Grönwall. Winner of the 2009 season of the popular Swedish audition show Idol, his arrival was at first seen by some as hype, but his commanding singing here swept those doubts away. Signed to Gain/Sony and using Grammy-winning producer Tobias Lindell (Europe, Hardcore Superstar), the album gained a powerful, polished sound worthy of its songwriting. It reached number eight on the Swedish charts. The ringing “Breaking the Silence” opens the album sharply, and the lead single “Living on the Run” carries the listener through the lift of Jona Tee's keyboards. From the lyricism of “In and Out of Trouble” to the funky groove of “It's All About Tonight” and the cinematic afterglow of “Downtown,” the songs show varied faces. With Grönwall's arrival the band turned toward a more modern, dynamic direction. A critical success, it is an important work that vividly proved the potential of the new lineup.
