Beyond Tomorrow

『Beyond Tomorrow』は、GINEVRAが前作から3年を待たずに届けた第2作である。2025年3月28日、フロンティアーズから発表された。編成は動いていない。クリスチャン・フィール(歌・コーラス・鍵盤)、マグナス・カールソン(ギター・鍵盤)、ジミー・ジェイ(ベース)、マグナス・ウルフステット(ドラム)。ただし卓は替わった。プロデュース、録音、ミックス、マスタリングのすべてを、ウィンガーで知られるジェンク・エログルが一人で担っている。曲作りは再びフィールが主導し、カールソンが共作に加わった。 全11曲。鋭いリフで幕を開ける“Moonlight”についてフィールは、内なる悪魔と戦う話だと語った。何かに手の付けられないほど溺れながら、それがいつか消えると自分に言い聞かせている——そういう歌だという。作品全体についても彼は明快だ。聖書的でも政治的でもない、より高い大義を扱っている。人が地球に痕跡を残せるのはせいぜい八十年ほどなのだから、意味あるものにしなければならない、と。“True North”“Samurai”を経て“Enemy Of Your Destiny”まで、速さと重さは前作より一段増している。

Beyond Tomorrow is the second album, arriving less than three years after the debut, released by Frontiers on 28 March 2025. The line-up has not moved: Kristian Fyhr (vocals, backing vocals, keyboards), Magnus Karlsson (guitar, keyboards), Jimmy Jay (bass), Magnus Ulfstedt (drums). The desk has, though. Cenk Eroglu, known for his work with Winger, handled production, recording, mixing and mastering single-handed. Fyhr again led the writing, with Karlsson collaborating. There are eleven tracks. Of the opener “Moonlight,” with its sharp riff, Fyhr said it tells a story about fighting inner demons — losing yourself in something uncontrollably while pretending it will all go away. He is just as plain about the record as a whole: it covers a higher cause without being biblical or political; we have roughly eighty years to leave a mark here on Earth, so we had better make it count. From “True North” through “Samurai” to “Enemy Of Your Destiny,” both the speed and the weight have gone up a notch on the debut.
