This House Is Not for Sale is the fourteenth album, on which Bon Jovi distilled the band's unity and will into frank rock songs. Guitarist Phil X and bassist Hugh McDonald became official members, and together with Jon Bon Jovi (vocals), Tico Torres (drums) and David Bryan (keyboards), it became the first proper album with the new lineup. Hard guitar riffs and stadium-conscious choruses come to the front, and the songs move forward clearly. The powerful declaration of "This House Is Not for Sale" and the drive of "Knockout" convey the will of a rebuilt band. A temperature characteristic of the current band lives on songs like "Born Again Tomorrow" and "Roller Coaster" too. The album debuted at US number 1, proving the band was alive and well after Sambora. A record full of resolve that chose lasting strength over flash.
