『Worlds Collide』は、APOCALYPTICAがチェロの低い響きとメタルのリフ感を、より開かれたソングライティングへ結び付けた作品だ。ゲスト・ヴォーカルの個性も、器楽曲を含む作品全体に豊かな起伏を与えている。バンドの国際的な知名度を、大きく押し上げた一枚である。 “I Don't Care”“I'm Not Jesus”“S.O.S. (Anything but Love)”といった楽曲では、スリー・デイズ・グレイスのアダム・ゴンティエ、スリップノットのコリー・テイラー、ラクーナ・コイルのクリスティーナ・スカビアら、豪華なゲストが歌声を添えている。とりわけ“I Don't Care”は世界的なヒットとなった。“Grace”“Last Hope”のような器楽曲にも、バンドの充実した演奏が息づいている。前作で導入したヴォーカル・コラボレーションの手法を本作ではさらに大々的に展開しており、デヴィッド・ボウイの“Helden”（＝Heroes）のカヴァーも収録されている。多彩なゲストを迎えながらも中心にあるのは常にチェロの響きであり、“Burn”“Peace”のような楽曲にもバンドの充実した演奏が息づいている。楽器編成の特異さを、普遍的なフックへと変えた一枚である。

Worlds Collide is a work on which APOCALYPTICA bound the cello’s low resonance and a metal riff feel to more open songwriting. The personalities of the guest vocals also give rich undulation to the whole work, which includes instrumentals. It is a record that greatly raised the band’s international recognition. On “I Don't Care,” “I'm Not Jesus” and “S.O.S. (Anything but Love),” star guests such as Three Days Grace’s Adam Gontier, Slipknot’s Corey Taylor and Lacuna Coil’s Cristina Scabbia add their voices. In particular, “I Don't Care” became a worldwide hit. Instrumentals like “Grace” and “Last Hope” breathe the band’s full playing too. It is a record that turned the peculiarity of the instrumentation into universal hooks.
