Plays Metallica by Four Cellos is the debut that showed how the weight of guitar riffs and the low end of the cello bind together surprisingly naturally. Even the friction sound of the bow and the reverberation replace the original’s aggression with a different texture. It is an unprecedented record created by young cellists from Finland’s Sibelius Academy. On “Enter Sandman,” “Master of Puppets” and “Creeping Death,” because they make you hear the songs’ structure with ensemble and dynamics alone, without using vocals, even the skeletons of METALLICA’s songs look fresh. Songs like “The Unforgiven” and “Welcome Home (Sanitarium)” breathe the passion of the young players too.
