On October 20, Udo Artists announced an added show on TOTO's Japan tour for the band's 50th anniversary, TOTO 50TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR. The March 2027 visit was announced in August as two shows — Asue Arena Osaka on Monday, March 22, a national holiday, and Ariake Arena in Tokyo on Tuesday, March 23 — and the band's own site reports that the Tokyo night has sold out. A second night at Ariake Arena has now been set for Wednesday, March 24, making three Japan shows in all and two in Tokyo. Tickets for the added show go first to Udo Premium Members, for S seats on a first-come basis, from noon on October 21.

The added show: Ariake Arena, Wednesday, March 24, doors 18:00

The added show is on Wednesday, March 24, 2027, at Ariake Arena, the venue of the 23rd, with doors at 18:00 and the show at 19:00. Tickets are ¥22,000 for S seats and ¥21,000 for A seats, tax included, the same as for the two shows already announced. It is presented by J-WAVE and TOKYO FM, with cooperation from Sony Music Labels, and invited and produced by Udo Artists.

Udo Premium Members can book S seats first-come from noon on Wednesday, October 21 until 23:59 on Tuesday, October 27 (one application and up to two tickets per person per show), and Udo Members from noon on Friday, October 23 until 18:00 on Friday, November 13 (S seats, first-come, up to four tickets per show). General sale opens at 10:00 on Saturday, November 14, through Udo Members, Ticket Pia, eplus, Lawson Ticket and Worldwide Ticket Reservation.

TOTO's own site reported it on October 19, US time: the first Tokyo night sold out, a second show added for March 24, and tickets on sale from 10am local time on November 14.

Three shows in all — one night in Osaka, two at Ariake Arena

Udo Artists announced the Japan tour on August 28, billed as a greatest-hits tour for the band's 50th anniversary: Asue Arena Osaka (Osaka Municipal Central Gymnasium) on Monday, March 22, a national holiday, with doors at 16:00 and the show at 17:00, and Ariake Arena on Tuesday, March 23, with doors at 18:00 and the show at 19:00. General sale for both opened on October 3. With the 24th added, it is three shows: one night in Osaka and two in Tokyo.

According to Udo Artists, the tour will take in almost every continent across 2027 and 2028, and Japan is where it begins. On October 19, US time, the band also announced a European tour for summer 2027, opening at 3Arena in Dublin on June 16 and running into August, with Todd Rundgren as very special guest at every show in Ireland and the UK.

TOTO's own site dates the band to January 7, 1977, when the founding line-up first came together at Davlen Studios in North Hollywood to begin tracking the demos that became the debut album.

From the first visit in 1980 to the 17th in 2019 and a new line-up in 2023

Udo Artists' biography of the band puts its first Japan shows in March 1980, when all ten, the added ones included, sold out. Toto IV (1982) was followed by a Japan tour that took in three nights at the Nippon Budokan; 2008 brought a joint Japan tour with Boz Scaggs, February 2019 the band's 17th visit, and 2023 a Japan tour with a line-up that included younger members.

In comments for the tour, which Udo Artists published in full on August 28, Steve Lukather says Japan has supported TOTO since early in the band's career, and Joseph Williams, who joined in 1986, recalls that his first job in the band was to go to Japan ahead of the others to promote it. Co-founder David Paich is not part of the tour.
