Rrroooaaarrr came out on 14 March 1986 on Noise International, with Banzai Records issuing the Canadian edition as BRC 1973 and Combat the American one as MX 8103.
It was recorded between 11 and 17 November 1985 at L'Autre Studios in Montreal, produced by the band with Mike Amstadt, with Maurice "Rocker" Richard as executive producer. Piggy and Blacky also engineered, and Away drew the sleeve.
The LP marks its first side "Ripping Side" and its second "Thrashing Side". It sold more than forty thousand copies worldwide. In a 2012 interview Snake described it as a thrash record that stands part-way between the sound of War and Pain and the progressive elements that would arrive with Killing Technology.
Heard now, the speed and the roughness are the debut's, with dissonant chords and split metres working their way in. The opening "Korgull the Exterminator" is named after the central figure of the band's own mythology and has stayed in the live set ever since. The running order here is the original's as printed.
