evolution

evolution is the fourth Unlucky Morpheus album, released on 27 April 2022 as ANKM-0041, distributed by Disk Union at 3,080 yen including tax. Twenty-one months had passed since Unfinished, with the digital single "“M” Revolution" and the live album “XIII” Live at Toyosu PIT in between. Track nine, "“M” Revolution (“evolution” ver.)", is that single re-cut for the album. Naming the version in the title is a habit of this band's: CHANGE OF GENERATION did the same with "Wings (2018 Ver.)" and "Kyobo no Koibito (2018 Ver.)". This is the album that got the films. Music videos were made for "“M” Anthem", "Amaryllis", "Welcome to Valhalla" and "The Black Death Mansion Murders", and a trailer for the album itself; three of them were still listed as "New Music Video" on the band's own front page. The launch bonuses were split by shop — a karaoke CD-R from Disk Union, a double-sided A1 poster from Melonbooks. That split is the band's two distribution routes showing through: original records into the ordinary trade, the Touhou arrangement records into the doujin shops. Four months later the band played all ten of these songs at Zepp DiverCity, and that night is the live album EVOLUTION & DIVERSITY LIVE 2022 at Zepp DiverCity.
