Original Album Series is UFO's box in the series of that name, issued by Parlophone in January 2014. It holds five albums, one to a disc: Phenomenon (1974), Force It (1975), No Heavy Petting (1976), Lights Out (1977) and Obsession (1978). These are the studio records UFO made with guitarist Michael Schenker, who joined from Scorpions in 1973 at the age of eighteen and left the band at the end of 1978.
The five come to 47 tracks. Each disc holds the original album and nothing else, with no bonus tracks, and the CDs sit in card sleeves inside a slipcase. The catalogue number is 2564636163. The box reached Japan as a European import, which Tower Records dates to 14 January 2014, the same day as the Michael Schenker Group's box in the same series.
In the copy the label supplied to Tower Records, the set gathers the band's early landmark records, and UFO is credited with making Schenker's name and with shaping many bands of the new wave of British heavy metal. The same five albums, with bonus tracks, also open the ten-CD box The Complete Studio Albums 1974-1986, issued in March 2014.
