Still Hungry

Still Hungry is a 2004 project on which the reunited Twisted Sister re-recorded every song from their signature album Stay Hungry and added seven bonus tracks. The band had long felt the 1984 original was too slick and didn’t reflect their vision, so here they play the songs again with a rougher, thicker performance. The golden-era lineup of Dee Snider, Jay Jay French, Eddie Ojeda, Mark Mendoza and A.J. Pero reassembled, with Mendoza and French producing. Famous songs like “We're Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock” gain new force from the more raw playing. The bonus tracks include “Never Say Never” and “Blastin' Fast & Loud,” cut from the 1984 sessions, and “Heroes Are Hard to Find,” recorded for the film Strangeland. It is more than a simple re-recording, working as a renewed statement of the songs’ live-ready momentum. It reignites 1980s hooks through present-day playing — an intriguing record for fans.
