Tunguska

Tunguska turns the scale suggested by the 1908 Tunguska event into Treat’s own high-energy melodic hard rock. Robert Ernlund’s vocal, Anders Wikström’s guitar and thick backing choruses give the material dramatic momentum. “Progenitors” and “Always Have, Always Will” carry large refrains and crisp riffs equal to the grand title. Even with a narrative element, the songs never become difficult or lose their melodic pleasure. It is a powerful album from a mature band that understands its strengths very well.
