YOUNG&DANGEROUS

This is the second album by the four-piece formed in Derby, England in 2012, released by Interscope Records on 26 October 2018. Luke Spiller sings, Adam Slack plays guitar, Jed Elliott bass and Gethin Davies drums. Spiller grew up in a Christian family in Bristol, where the music he heard was mostly gospel until he found Michael Jackson's Off the Wall at seven. His first ambition was to be a contemporary dancer; by eleven he was listening to Led Zeppelin, Queen, AC/DC and Leonard Cohen, and as well as pretending to be Jackson in front of a mirror he was imitating Bon Scott and Freddie Mercury. He only began singing at sixteen. In 2009, living in Clevedon, he met the Derby guitarist and writer Adam Slack. Both of their bands were coming apart at the time and the two connected musically straight away; Spiller moved to Derby, where they lived, wrote and recorded together for nearly three years. The band's name came from an offhand remark at a rehearsal. The record sounds exactly like that history: big choruses and Spiller's deliberately overstated delivery at the front. After twelve songs it closes with a second version of "Body Talks" featuring Kesha.
